hi,I have solved the quest,it end with a message that tells you to decipher a phone number on the cover of the book.
Don't waste your time with the small number,you have to "decipher" not read.
I think the answer is to be found in the five sequences of letter+number:
E8/C2/H5/J5/B1 then you replace the letters with a number and the result is:58/32/85/05/21. I am pretty sure theses are the ten digits of the phone number but I can't find the good order.

to give you a hint you are missing some numbers, in fact half...check the rest of cover of the book...
The letter/number combinations are map coordinates to a road in Canada. They are a fake clue. I think that the red numbers on the cover are page numbers because each of the pages mentions a specific place or number.
